 Sławomir Hausman received his M.Sc. (with honours) degree in electronics in 1982 from Lodz University of Technology (Poland) and a PhD degree from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, the UK in 1990. He obtained his habilitation (dr hab. degree) from Lodz University of Technology in 2009 where he is currently a Professor.

 His research and publications focus on radio propagation modelling, assessment of human exposure to electromagnetic fields, wireless body area networks, optimization of microwave systems, 5G cellular systems, metamaterials, electromagnetic compatibility, computational electromagnetics, and digital signal processing. He was a leader and/or team member in more than twenty R&D projects for industry. He also had several years of experience as a small company owner, designer, specialist in industry (including electric power utilities, telecommunication operators, Polish Office of Electronic Communications). In addition, he was employed at Lodz Electric Power Utility as a telecommunication network senior specialist (1994–1997).

 He is a Chairman of the Polish National Committee of International Union of Radio Science URSI –Commission K, Chair of Lodz Branch of Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Electrical Engineering. In addition, he chaired technical program committees of several premier national radio communications and ICT conferences, including the 5th International Conference “The development of mobile telecommunications networks in the era of disinformation - technology, health, regulations and education”.

 

He has over 15 years of experience at various academic administrative positions, including nine years as the Dean of the Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering Faculty at the Lodz University of Technology. He currently is Head of the Telecommunication Division at the Faculty.
